DEI Event: First-Generation Business Summit - Employer Registration
Wednesday, July 27, 2022 | 6:30pm – 7:30pm MT | On-Campus
CSU’s future business students need your help. The CSU’s College of Business is hosting the first annual First-Generation Business Summit this summer. This event is an opportunity for high school students who will be the first in their families to experience what collegiate life is like.
As part of the week’s activities on Wednesday, July 27, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm, the College is hosting a networking event to provide students the opportunity to practice their soft skills such as carrying on conversations, introducing themselves to a stranger, etc., and we would love for employers to be a part of it.
The College of Business is seeking 40-50 professionals to participate in this networking event. Most of these students won’t be entering the workforce for some time, so you do not need to actively have job or internship opportunities available, just a desire to help these students start to learn about the world of business.
What we need from YOU as a professional/employer:
- Only one hour of your time to help these first-generation business students learn soft skills.
- No preparation is needed, you/your staff will be in the character of yourself – a professional from a local business.
- Please focus on staff who are first-generation business students and/or from minoritized populations. The students will be from very diverse backgrounds, and we would love for students to be able to recognize themselves in the professionals who are attending.
- We need a good number of professionals, so please help us in forwarding this to your staff who would like to help these first-generation students.
If you are interested in attending, please enter your information below and we will follow up with you. If you have any questions, please contact David Ferree, College of Business Academic Advisor, at David.Ferree@colostate.edu.
